During his time on the bench, Judge Schettino was appointed as Acting Suffolk County Court Judge, where he served in the Alternative Dispute Resolution part conducting settlement conferences in personal injury cases.
Judge Schettino’s twenty-seven-year legal career as a trial attorney included seven years in private practice as well as a position as an in-house attorney for GEICO Insurance Company for five years, and with Crum & Forster Insurance Company’s in-house counsel for fifteen years. Judge Schettino also served on the Town of Islip Planning Board for seven years, including two years as Chairman.
