Our Founding
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, it could take 3 or more years between the time a civil case was filed and the time it reached the trial calendar, and possibly an additional year before it was heard. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, that backlog of cases has only increased, making it more difficult for attorneys and their clients to get their cases resolved.
Attorneys Frederick C. Johs, Hon. A. Gail Prudenti, Michael Levine, Nancy Burner, and Allison C. Johs know firsthand from their many years of law practice and on the bench that clients become increasingly frustrated the longer their cases go unresolved. Even where the parties had already agreed to mediation or arbitration, it could take months to receive a hearing date. Knowing that litigants in Suffolk County had no local options for alternative dispute resolution, we formed Mediation Solutions of NY, LLC. with the intention of providing mediation and arbitration services for attorneys and their clients from the east end of Long Island to New York City.
In short, Mediation Solutions of NY was created by lawyers for lawyers to help them get cases resolved right in their own backyards.
